Bay Area Community Investment Network (BACIN)
Linking Market-Rate Private Investment with Domestic Emerging Market Opportunities in Priority Neighborhoods with high levels of poverty to Achieve Poverty Reduction, Community Wealth Creation, and Smart Growth.
BACIN was established to provide a prescreened, prequalified flow of real estate and business deals to appropriate BACIN participants. In addition, it is the goal of BACIN to have these deals magnify the overall amount of Bay Area Family of Funds capital invested in the priority neighborhoods by a factor of three or four through attraction of additional capital for other investment opportunities. BACIN participants may make investments independently or in conjunction with funds in the Bay Area Family of Funds
BACIN is organized by the Bay Area Council and the Bay Area Family of Funds, launched in 2003 with the joint effort and support of the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco and the Ford Foundation.
